Practise yoga with me on the stunning West coast of Sicily. Salinara is an elegant and stylish 18th century farm, situated close to the beautiful Baroque town of Marsala, and located one hour from Palermo. The farm is immersed in nature, surrounded by ancient salt pans, windmills, vineyards and olive groves. It is within walking distance of the Mediterranean sea. From Salinara you can explore the pretty coastal towns of Marsala and Trapani, taste the local wines, ride the cable car up to the medieval town of Erice and sail to the stunning Egadi islands. Or, simply enjoy il dolce far niente, the sweetness of doing nothing - relaxing on your private terrace or chilling in a hammock in the pretty gardens. Full of extraordinary charm and natural beauty, Salinara is a perfect retreat hideaway where both body and soul can regenerate.
amazing places to visit in western sicily
Western Sicily is simply stunning. Salinara is located next to Marsala, a beautiful town with a charming main square. In this region you can sample different varieties of wine, including the world famous Marsala wine! Also close by is the lovely coastal town of Trapani with its Baroque Centro Storico, great cafes and shops. Walk along the promenade or take a dip in the sea! From Trapani you can ride the cable car to the medieval village of Erice, meander through the narrow streets and admire the stunning view. Just off the West Coast are the amazing Egadi islands of Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo - a must visit while you are here.
eat fresh, healthy, delicious farm-to-table food at salinara
Salinara is passionate about authentic, delicious food. Most of the produce used by the chef comes from the farm itself or another nearby farm. Even the extra virgin olive oil comes from the trees in front of the farm, and all the wine is from the surrounding vineyards. This use of local products supports the local economy and protects the environment by reducing the supply chain. All food on the retreat is vegetarian. Brunch is served after morning yoga and dinner after evening yoga. Fruit is available before the morning practice.

Our morning sessions are 120 minutes of soulful Vinyasa flow and conscious breathing. These sessions are mixed level, with options, and are thoughtfully sequenced to invigorate you.
We switch gears for our 90 minute evening sessions with a much slower, stiller vibe, combining gentle yoga, somatics, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Pranayama (breathing techniques) and Yoga Nidra (guided relaxation) designed to soothe and nourish you.
relax & slumber in the stylish studios & suites
All studios and suites have air conditioning, purified drinking water in glass bottles, kitchenettes with fridges, espresso machines, a selection of teas, WiFi, super comfy beds with fine cotton bed linen, hairdryers and fresh flowers from the garden. You will find cotton towels and soap in the bathroom. Nearly all the rooms have private balconies, terraces or patios.
acquasanta - studio with garden view
Enter this elegant ground floor studio through a small private garden of lemon and orange trees. Beside the entrance you will find a stoup, in which holy water – “acquasanta” in Italian – is traditionally found at the entrance of a church. Acquasanta has Double or Twin Beds, vineyard view, its own very large private patio space with table and chairs and sun lounger, along with a kitchenette and shower room. The floor is made of 17th century maiolica tiles. Acquasanta is a great choice for those seeking complete privacy.

This beautiful, cosy and characterful ground floor studio - with mezzanine - has handmade floor tiles, bathroom, kitchenette and table and chairs. There are two single beds on the ground level and one single bed on the mezzanine. The generous height of the ceilings allows for comfortable living across two levels in this property, and you will be enchanted by the antique ship lamps, used in times gone by to transport spices across the Mediterranean. This studio has a pretty private patio, with table and chairs, overlooking the garden with pink bougainvillea.

This charming studio on the ground floor features natural lime-washed walls, historical handmade floor tiles, and a kitchenette in Sicilian marble. This gorgeous, very spacious, split level suite is in the traditional Sicilian style.
